Happy last week of February from MMS! Baseball and Softball practices continue. Track Practice begins today 2/23, from 3:30 to 5:00. Please make sure that you have all the athletic paperwork completed if this is the first sport you're participating in this school year. The 3rd quarter grading period is coming to an end! Please get with your student about getting missing work submitted! 3rd Quarter grades determine if a student is eligible for not for athletics, we don't want anyone to lose eligibility! March 11th is the official end of the grading period so there's no time to waste! Have a great week everyone!
Some reminders from MMS. This evening and tomorrow morning are parent teacher conferences. The office has scheduled and confirmed all of these so we are eager to see MMS families in the building! There is no school for students tomorrow, they do not need to log in for remote sessions. There is no school on Monday February 16th in observance of Presidents Day. Have wonderful, extended weekends and we will see our students next Tuesday the 17th! We appreciate all of our families and wish you a Happy Valentine Weekend!
Today is February 5th! Today is the MMS Science Fair. The MMS gym has all of the projects set up and displayed and they look great! This is months worth of effort being put on display! Big shout out to Mrs. Carwile and Ms. Barnes for their efforts in putting together, encouraging, guiding student work and everyone's dedication to these projects. Happy February to the MMS Community! This week, basketball season ends. MMS plays Edgewood Middle 2/3 at MHS. Go and see your Colts take on EMS in the last games of the season! MMS Softball starts today, 2/2 and MMS baseball starts Wednesday, 2/4. The MMS gym will be hosting our 4th Annual Science Fair. Come and see the work students have been putting in for a couple of months now on Thursday, 2/5. The science fair projects will be on display. We will keep the gym open until 5:30 pm. The Week Ahead at MMS: Hi everyone, we hope that you have been warm through the snow and cold temps which hit this weekend! We've got a lot going on at MMS this week. County Spelling Bee is 1/27 at the MHS PAC @ 9:30. We've got boys and girls basketballs games today 1/26, 1/28 and 1/30. The season ends next week! On Friday, all students will take a survey in their math classes. An opt out form is being sent home with your students. If you don't want them to take the survey please fill this form out and send it back. You can also fill out the following link, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ParentSFS2026 . The survey is on student health and wellness. This pretty much wraps up January for us. Progress reports come out next week! Please check with your students about getting any missing work completed. Sending out some information just in case the forecasted Winter Storm actually does arrive! In case of inclement weather, a delay or a cancellation, we will postpone the MMS Academic Award Ceremony to next Friday, 01/16 at 9:45 am. Please remember that in the event of a snow day, MESD employs remote learning days. Students will need to log into the Google Meet sessions assigned by their teachers. The final countdown! We have 5 days of school left! We have many activities going on this week, basketball games, Powderpuff Volleyball game, tape the principal to the wall, Spirit Week themes and a concession stand on Friday! This is also the end of the 2nd 9 weeks and 1st semester. Please encourage your students to submit their missing assignments! We will also have a Winter Dance on Friday. Students must have no more than 1 F and no behavior referrals. Most importantly though are students grades! Please encourage your student to submit any missing work or even re-attempt assignments to maintain athletic eligibility or gain eligibility for Spring sports. Thanks everyone, have a great week!

Students scores are on this assessment are typically strong indicators of how students perform on the Summative Assessment in the Spring. We wish our students the best of luck and hope that they give the best effort that they possibly can! MMS would like to express thanks for everyone's contributions to this year's food drive. Through contributions from staff and students we were able to create 9 meal boxes which allowed us to take care of some of our own MMS families. During this season of thanks we appreciate our students, their families and our staff and their families which collectively make Moriarty Middle School an incredible place. We pray that everyone has a phenomenal week off and we look forward to seeing our students return on December 1st! Be safe and well through your travels!
MMS Basketball Preseason Scrimmages today! Hello everyone, MMS Girls Basketball hosts Edgewood Middle today at 3:30! MMS Boys basketball are at Edgewood Middle for their scrimmage at 3:30 today. There's no charge for admission but there will a concession stand! Get out and see your MMS basketball in action!
Hello from MMS! Just some info. Progress reports are being sent home today! We are half way to the end of the 2nd quarter already! Please urge your students to get missing work submitted! MMS is also holding a canned food drive. The winning advisory class gets a pizza party. Please send Thanksgiving items which are not expired! The competition ends next Tuesday. MHS is hosting a health fair next Wednesday, November 19th, in the practice gym. There will be a provider available to do free physicals from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Any athletes considering sports in the spring, baseball, softball or track, consider attending to get your physical completed!

Good morning and welcome to November! This is a reminder that we have no school this week on Tuesday for Election Day. MMS 8th graders will attend a 1 hour performance by a group called Artrageous on Friday. Look for the field trip slip coming home! The performance will be at the MHS Performing Arts Center on Friday from 11:30 to 12:30. Boys basketball tryouts start Wednesday morning at 6 am in the MMS gym. Girls basketball tryouts will start Thursday after school! Thank you to everyone who joined us at MMS last week whether it be for the choir or guitar performances. MMS Choir did amazing today! They performed a series of Halloween songs on our patio. GREAT job MMS Choir!
Starting the day with an error. In my previous communication I said Quarter 3 grades in regard to tomorrow's Halloween Dance. I meant Quarter 2! Our current grading period which started October 13th! Students can't have more than 1 F on their current, Quarter 2 grades if they want to attend the dance! Also, no referrals that got In school or out of school suspension. Sorry for the mistake and thanks for catching it Ms. Sommer!
